FLEUR DE JAMAICA
A gorgeous cocktail with hibiscus tea and our Rosatello Rosso. Perfectly sweet and refreshing.
2 oz Rosatello Rosso Red Wine
2 sprays rosewater
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1 oz hibiscus simple syrup (see below)
1 oz gin
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Hibiscus Simple Syrup:
1 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
5 Tazo Hibiscus Passion teabags or
1/4 cup Jamaica leaves in a teabag
Place water, sugar and teabags into a medium saucepan on medium-high heat. You can wrap the tea bag ends around the handle of the pot to hold them in place, but be sure that they don't catch fire. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to low heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Set aside and let cool.
Spray a martini glass with two spritzes of rosewater In a cocktail shaker, combine Angostura bitters, hibiscus simple syrup, Rosatello Rosso, gin, and lemon juice. Stir. Strain into martini glass and garnish with an edible flower or lemon wheel.
